FRIENDSHIP PARK

With collaboration from the Cascade township, we aimed to create the ambiance of an 'outdoor library'—but what does that mean exactly? For us, it signifies a space with various gathering areas, ranging from cozy nooks to larger group spaces, offering opportunities for exploration, engagement, learning, connection, and reflection. This design and installation includes diverse gathering spots, seating options, and opportunities for exploration and learning through natural landscapes and interactive features, enticing visitors to venture outside and make use of the space. The forms shaping the layout are circular and curvilinear, inspired by the library's architecture, establishing a strong organizational identity for the site that contrasts beautifully with the natural character of the site's vegetation and habitats. This plan utilizes the existing natural elements of the site, and adds native gardens and prairies across the park.
